- 1). First off, in order to apply for food stamps in Arizona, you can either log onto the Department of Economic Security online, filling out an easy online application. Or you can apply by contacting DES and having them set you up with an appointment.
- 2). Second off, you must gather all necessary statements including bank statements, proof of income and proof of residency. These statements may be faxed to the DES office, if applying online. Or you may bring them with you if applying for food stamps in person at the office.
- 3). Lastly, you will receive something by mail in which you may be required to have an interview in order to receive ongoing food stamps. In some cases, if the DES office believes that your situation in an emergency, you may receive a food stamp card within a couple of days, in which you are then required to go pick up the food stamp card at the DES office.
