- Active dates are fun date options for Catholic teenagers.Jupiterimages/Polka Dot/Getty Images
An important factor in Catholic dating is to stimulate meaningful conversation without lustful temptation. Many common date ideas, such as going to see a movie, do not allow for teens to get to know each other. Instead, bowling, rock climbing, renting bikes or Rollerblades, hiking and go-cart racing are better ideas. Because they are active, there's less pressure to be grown up and more room for having fun and getting to know one another. - Catholic teens should consider dating ideas that are inexpensive, since these are likely to put less pressure on both persons. One idea is to cook or bake something at home, which requires only the cost of the ingredients. Another option is to volunteer together at a church or community center, which is completely free. As an added benefit, either of these dates can be chaperoned by one or several responsible Christian adults.

Dating for Catholic teens should not focus only on romantic time spent together. Educational dates make the time spent more worthwhile and they are likely to help alleviate tension and temptation. If available locally, choosing a museum works well if the couple can find something in which they are both interested. Another idea is to sign up for a recreation class to learn a craft, such as pottery, painting or playing an instrument. - Chastity is an important tenet in the Catholic faith and should be honored at all times. This does not, however, mean that there is no room for romantic dating. Being romantic is about making thoughtful decisions about the other person, especially when the other person does not expect it. Some romantic dating ideas include singing a love song at a karaoke bar or random surprises such as balloons, candy, a DVD movie or tickets to a live show.
