What Are Twitter Directories?

One of the biggest problems for any marketer trying to use Twitter is getting seen by people.
Finding and winning followers, as a rule, requires careful following of important people and active tweeting.
Luckily, this is only one of the ways to become "famous" on Twitter.
There is a different way to stand from the crowd.
Make sure, that your business (your website, blog, squeeze page, etc) is listed on one of the major Twitter directories.
In most cases they are not officially connected to Twitter, but I would not be surprised if they would want to be related to them.
Directories are often filled with self-promoters, who want to sell something.
But that doesn't mean that directories are not valuable.
They provide useful starting points for people, who are looking for professionals to follow in their field.
Another pro of directories is they are free.
Twitter Directories There are three different directories, that are popular with twitterers 1) Twibs.
com It is the smallest of the three.
I like this one because the registration is easy, but the usability for searches isn't friendly 2) Wefollow.
com You do not have to register on the site itself.
All you need to do is simply reply to @wefollow with your keywords.
The good thing is that your name is spread across Twitter's timelines, making your site viewable for twitterers.
3) Twellow.
com Twitterers are added there automatically, so probably that you are already listed there.
It's strength is it's structure.
Think of Twellow like a Yellow Pages for Twitter
