- 1). Open the Dakota's hood.
- 2). Unscrew the three retaining screws holding the headlight assembly to the vehicle. Use your socket wrench for the screws.
- 3). Pull the assembly forward and out of the front of the car.
- 4). Disconnect the electrical bulb connector. You can pull it off the back of the bulb.
- 5). Turn the bulb assembly counterclockwise and pull it out of the assembly.
- 6). Pull the old bulb out of the socket.
- 7). Insert the new bulb.
- 8). Reverse steps 2 through 5 to reinstall the bulb and headlight assembly.
