- 1). Position the motorcycle 20 feet away from a large wall. Turn the ignition switch on to illuminate the headlights and switch the low beams on. Lift the motorcycle into an upright position and hold it in place. Take note of the position of the headlight's beam on the wall. Ideally, the beam should be centered on the wall and be positioned 4 feet above the floor.
- 2). Locate the adjustment bolts on the back of the motorcycle's inner fairing, just forward of the front forks. There is one adjustment bolt on both of the headlight assembly's lower corners.
- 3). Adjust the headlight's beam horizontally using the adjustment bolts on each side of the headlight assembly. Adjust the headlight to the right, twisting the right adjustment bolt clockwise with a 4.5 mm socket. Adjust the headlight to the left, twisting the left adjustment bolt counterclockwise with a 4.5 mm socket. Adjust the headlight beam's position until it is centered directly in front of the motorcycle.
- 4). Turn the adjustment bolts on both sides of the headlight an even number of turns with a 4.5 mm socket to adjust the headlight beam's vertical position. Turn the bolts clockwise to raise the headlight beam or counterclockwise to lower the headlight beam. Position the headlight beams on the wall, approximately 4 feet from the ground. For example: turn the right adjustment bolt clockwise four complete turns, then turn the left adjustment bolt clockwise four complete turns.
- 5). Turn off the ignition switch and settle the motorcycle onto its kick stand.
