- 1). Unplug the garbage disposal.
- 2). Insert an Allen wrench into the hole at the bottom of the garbage disposal.
- 3). Turn the Allen wrench a full 360 degrees. The wrench probably will not turn easily. If this is the case, work the wrench back and forth as much as you need to until you are able to rotate the wrench the full 360 degrees.
- 4). Insert tongs into the hole at the top of the appliance and remove any loose items from the disposal.
- 5). Press the red button on the bottom of the disposal about five minutes after removing the loose items.
- 6). Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and test the unit.
