- Although sometimes not included with the washer, the water supply lines are required for the installation of all washing machines. The water supply lines allow the washer to connect to the water supply valves on the wall behind the washer. Each washer requires two water supply lines, one for hot water and one for cold. The water supply lines are constructed of either rubber or braided steel.
- The water supply lines must be threaded onto the water inlet valves on the rear of the washer, as well as onto the water supply valves on the wall behind the washer by hand. Once tightened by hand, you must further tighten two-thirds of a turn using pliers, but be careful not to over-tighten the connection.
- In order to ensure that the washer operates quietly and effectively, the appliance must be level. The washer has four leveling legs that you must raise or lower to level the unit. To determine if the washer is level, place a level on the top of the washer to determine if it is level both front to back and side to side.
- Use the adjustable wrench to turn the leveling legs clockwise to lower the leveling legs, or counterclockwise to raise the leveling legs. In order to determine the direction needed to turn the legs, look at the bubble on the level. Additionally, the adjustable wrench is used to remove the shipping bolts from the rear of the washer that are installed on new washers to stabilize the wash tub during transit.
