Baker, Nevada is a small town known for its proximity to natural attractions. The city is located close to the entrance of Great Basin National Park, which is the prime attraction in the area. Baker is also home to the new Great Basin Visitor Center, and is within five miles of the Lehman Caves. Recreational vehicle (RV) campers interested in hiking, camping, skiing, snow shoeing and nature-watching can find several campgrounds and parks to stay in the area, both in Baker and inside Great Basin National Park. - Fishing at the park is allowed with a state license.fishing image by Zbigniew Nowak from Fotolia.com
The Lower Lehman Creek Campground is located inside Great Basin National Park. According to the official National Park Service information, there are 11 campsites, with several pull-through sites for RVs. Pets are allowed at the sites (although not on park trails), as well as up to two vehicles, three tents and eight people. The sites are fairly primitive, with water available at spigots around the campground during the summer and at the visitor center. The park is open year-round, but RV tanks can be filled and emptied at the dump station located at the entrance to the park only during the summer. Use fire rings for campfires. Fishing is permitted in the park with a valid state fishing license.

Border Inn's RV park is located behind the restaurant. According to Border, there are great views available of the sunsets over Great Basin National Park from the campsites. There are 20 sites, with pull-throughs and spaces large enough for big rigs. Pets and tent camping are allowed. Sites have water, sewer and 50-amp electricity. The Border Inn itself offers slot machines, a pool table, a gift shop, public phones, an ATM and a service station. The Border Inn RV Park is located 13 miles from Great Basin National Park.

Whispering Elms Campground is located in northern Baker. The park has 25 sites for both smaller rigs (less than 25 feet) and larger rigs. Rates include water, sewer, bathhouse and laundry facilities. At the site, 30- and 50-amp electricity are also available. Whispering Pines features a patio area, newly-remodeled bar, satellite TV and horseshoe pits. Use of the RV dump station costs an additional fee. Whispering Pines has both short-term and long-term rentals.
