Danzig has recorded some outstanding albums over the years, and as with most artists, there were some leftover songs that for one reason or another didn't make a particular album. It wasn't always because it wasn't a good song, but it may not have fit the vibe or direction of that album.
The Lost Tracks Of Danzig is 2 disc set of 26 songs that span Danzig's entire career. Not all of the songs were recorded during the era that they were written.
Some songs were still in raw demo form and others needed various vocal and musical parts, so Danzig finished and refined many of the songs that had been written years ago.
As you would expect in an album like this that has so many songs and spans such a long length of time, there are hits and misses. There are several songs that are really good and others that probably didn't need to be resurrected. In addition to original material there are also a few cover songs on this collection, including David Bowie's "Cat People," T-Rex's "Buick McKane" and "Caught In My Eye," done originally by The Germs.
The Lost Tracks Of Danzig is aimed mainly at hardcore fans of the band, and those fans will love this CD. There are also enough quality songs that casual Danzig fans should enjoy it as well.
