1. Maroon 5 - "Sugar"


Maroon 5 return to something a bit more like the soul-influences sound of their early days.  The result has been another swiftly climbing hit from the album V. The accompanying music video directed by David Dobkin has drawn significant attention.  It features the band crashing weddings across Los Angeles.

2. Sia - "Elastic Heart"


Sia's new single has also drawn a lot of attention for its music video. Dancer Maddie Ziegler, who performed in the "Chandelier" clip, returns. She is paired with the singer's namesake, actor Shia LeBeouf. The song was first recorded for the soundtrack of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Sia included a new version on her album 1000 Forms of Fear.

3. Usher - "I Don't Mind" featuring Juicy J


Usher's tale of not being bothered by a stripper's line of work is turning into a significant hit. It is his first top 40 pop hit since 2012. Juicy J's assist can not be discounted.  It is his fifth time inside the pop top 40 as a featured artist since 2013.

4. Ellie Goulding - "Love Me Like You Do"


We are still more than three weeks away from the release of the film Fifty Shades of Grey, but this song from the soundtrack is likely to get a big boost further up the charts at that point. It is already a top 40 hit for Ellie Goulding at both mainstream pop and adult pop radio.

5. Ella Henderson - "Ghost"


"Ghost" has turned into a worldwide debut smash hit for Ella Henderson. It has hit #1 in the UK while hitting the top 5 in both Australia and New Zealand.  Here in the US the song is a top 15 hit at both mainstream pop and adult pop radio. "Ghost" has reached gold sales status here in the US as well.

6. Calvin Harris - "Outside" featuring Ellie Goulding


Dance music master Calvin Harris is on a major hit streak. At home in the UK he has released 12 consecutive top 10 pop hits as lead artist dating back to 2011. Here in the US "Outside" looks set to be his third consecutive top 20 pop hit from the album Motion. It is already a top 10 smash on the dance songs chart.

7. OneRepublic - "I Lived"


OneRepublic band leader Ryan Tedder says he wrote "I Lived" for his four-year-old son. The theme of the song is carpe diem or "Sieze the day." The accompanying music video is dedicated to 15-year-old fan Bryan Warnecke who suffers from cystic fibrosis.

8. Taylor Swift - "Style"


The first public airing of the song "Style" occurred in a Target store TV commercial giving a 30 second snipped promoting the Target deluxe version of the album 1989. Taylor Swift performed "Style" live at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

9. Alesso - "Heroes (We Could Be)" featuring Tove Lo


Alesso's pop hit "Heroes (We Could Be)" borrows inspiration and a few lyrics from David Bowie's classic "Heroes." It is the pop breakthrough hit for the DJ here in the US, and the follow up to "Habits (Stay High)" for featured singer Tove Lo. "Heroes (We Could Be)" reached the top 10 at home in the UK.

10. Kelly Clarkson - "Heartbeat Song"


Kelly Clarkson's return on "Heartbeat Song" finds her in an upbeat mood likely reflecting her marital relationship and birth of her child. The song is the first from the upcoming studio album Piece By Piece expected later this year.
