Police: Dennis Emery Shot Himself While Threatening Dog
Police in Florida say a man accidentally shot himself in the face while using his gun to threaten one of his wife's dogs.
Dennis Eugene Emery, 57, was declared dead at the scene in Pinellas Park after the incident on Tuesday.
"He was involved in a domestic disturbance with his wife," Sgt. Adam Geissenberger of the Pinellas Park Police Dept. told Fox 13. "During that disturbance he retrieves a firearm, he produces the firearm, and he threatens to shoot one of the family's animals."
Police said Emery pulled the hammer back on the gun as he threatened the dog. While he did so, he apparently pointed the gun at his face -- and then the hammer came down.
Emery has a long history with the police, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

Tiny Little Dog Chases Away Would-Be Home Invader
It may not be the most intimidating dog around, but this little pooch sure takes her job seriously.
In a scene caught on video from South Africa, an apparent would-be home invader is seen on video creeping around a yard and then possibly trying to enter a home when something spooks him and he runs off.
He jumps two fences to get away from the menace: a tiny little guard dog, possibly a Yorkshire terrier.

Hotel Housekeeper Caught On Video Snooping
A hotel maid was caught on video going through a guest's belongings, snooping around the room and even trying to access his computer and iPad.
The man who posted the video didn't say where the incident happened, but said it was a name-brand hotel in the United States and that he turned over the video to management.
"This video was not uploaded to incite a witch-hunt or a boycott," Vince Stravix wrote.
He said it was posted to make "people aware that even in a hotel room, someone could rifle through your things without you knowing, so password protect everything you own and keep valuables locked up."

Talk about a white-knuckle moment behind the wheel.
The head of a company that adds armor to vehicles shows just how good the product is by getting inside... and then getting shot at.
"When it comes to assuring our clients' safety, we take product testing very seriously," R. Trent Kimball, CEO of Texas Armoring Corporation, says in the clip.
Camera angles from both inside and outside the car show the windshield getting battered by about a dozen rounds from an AK-47, but none managed to penetrate.
By the way, definitely don't try this at home.
There's been a rash of pizza robberies in Washington state. And in one incident caught on video, an employee of a victimized shop fought back.
"I was having a bad week," Jordan Raudenbush, manager of the Pizza Time restaurant in Lacey told KING 5 News.
His week almost got worse when the robber's gun went off. Fortunately, no one was injured.
“We don’t recommend fighting with someone who’s armed,” a sheriff’s spokesman told KIRO-TV.
“You don’t know their intentions, and it’s just extraordinary he didn’t get hit.”
The robber is still at large.

A Texas woman is accused of stealing thousands of dollars in sausages from her employer.
Police say surveillance video shows Regina Shaw, 45, stealing a "pallet of meat product" from the Kiolbassa Provision Company in San Antonio.
KSAT reported that Shaw allegedly then used the sausage to pay off some debt.
An arrest affidavit values the allegedly stolen sausage at $6,400, according to The Huffington Post, which makes that one big weiner pallet.
