Millions of people want to lose weigh, and some will and a few will even keep it off.
But what if you can't lose weight at all? What if your diet is failing you? Here are five things to look at if your diet is not working.
1) Are you still eating too much? Maybe you are still consuming too many calories despite following your diet.
Caloric requirements vary quite a bit depending on the person.
2) Are you on the wrong diet, one that for whatever reason doesn't work for you? Certainly give it a good honest try, but some diets will work better than others for you.
For example, the Atkins diet works well for me, but not well at all for my sister.
3) Are you drinking alcohol often? Alcohol contains plenty of calories, and although I'm the last person to tell you never to drink, those calories need to be accounted for somehow.
A couple of drinks a night will ruin most diets.
4) Are you sedentary? Diets work much better with some activity, whether formal exercise or an occasion walk during lunch.
As I've gotten older, exercise is more important for me to lose any weight at all.
5) Perhaps you have some sort of medical condition preventing you from losing weight? For example I found I have low thyroid and a simple very low dosage pill once a day makes all the difference.
Suddenly diet and exercise work much better and I'm trimmer than I have been in years! There are lots of reasons you may not be losing weight despite trying! Might any of the 5 above apply to you?
