• Thirty-four miles northeast of Crawford are the Lazy L Cabins in Elberton, a family owned complex operated by Susie Larson. Every cabin comes equipped with air-conditioning and heat, making for a comfortable stay year-round. The kitchen has dishes, pots, pans, microwaves and coffee makers. There are also linens and TVs. The cabins offer daily, weekly and monthly rates, as well as a summer family special, a military discount and group rates. Shade Tree Cabins

• Also near the town of Elberton are the Shade Tree Cabins, which offer secluded accommodations close to natural attractions. The cabins are large, with each one able to accommodate up to eight people. There's a fully equipped kitchen in each unit, which include a microwave. For most of the year weather is nice enough to use the outdoor gas grill in the picnic area. These cabins are also near Russell Lake, and they offer a fish-cleaning station. White-tail deer, wild pigs and wild turkey are plentiful in the area.
