- 1). Park the 1990 Honda Accord and apply the parking brake.
- 2). Move to the side of the 1990 Honda Accord where the wheel stud replacement will take place. Loosen the lug nuts from the wheel with a lug wrench.
- 3). Jack the wheel up and place a car stand under the proper jacking point. Lower the Accord onto the car stand and leave the jack in place.
- 4). Remove all of the lug nuts from the wheel and pull the wheel off of the wheel hub. Place the wheel flat down to prevent it from rolling.
- 5). Locate the opening on the top of the brake caliper. Insert the pry bar into the opening and pry the outer brake pad toward the engine until the brake caliper is loose.
- 6). Locate and remove the two caliper mounting bolts from the back of the caliper. Use a 3/8-inch drive ratchet and a metric socket to loosen and remove the two bolts.
- 7). Pull the brake caliper from the side of the brake rotor with your hands. Tie the brake caliper to the nearest steering component behind the wheel hub assembly with a small piece of wire.
- 8). Rotate the wheel hub so that the wheel stud is lined up where the brake caliper was sitting. This will give you the room necessary to remove the wheel stud from the back of the brake rotor.
- 9). Hit the center of the wheel stud with the hand held sledge hammer until the wheel stud comes out of the back of the brake rotor. To install a new wheel stud, line the splines up on the new wheel stud with the grooves on the back of the wheel stud hole. Tap the wheel stud in place with the hand held sledge hammer.
