- 1). Unplug the dryer and move the unit away from the wall to allow yourself the space to access the inside of the dryer's cabin.
- 2). Pry the front of the dryer's top panel away from the cabinet with a flat screwdriver or putty knife. Lift the top panel and rotate it away from the top of the dryer.
- 3). Remove the screws at the top of the dryer's front panel with the Phillips-head screwdriver. Disconnect the door switch wiring harness at the top of the front panel.
- 4). Lift the front panel and pull it away from the dryer. Set the panel aside.
- 5). Locate the motor shaft and idler pulley under the dryer's drum. The location of the motor shaft and pulley varies depending on your specific model. The assembly with be on the bottom of the dryer's cabinet, on the left or right side of the drum.
- 6). Push the idler pulley toward the drum to relieve tension on the dryer's drum belt. Remove the belt from the pulley and motor shaft and allow it to hang loosely from the drum.
- 7). Lift the drum from the rear guide wheels inside the dryer's cabinet and remove the drum from the dryer. Lay the drum on the floor with the rear edge of the drum facing upward.
- 8). Inspect the slide bearings attached to the rear rim of the dryer's drum. The bearings should be two halves of hard plastic, attached to the edge of the dryer's drum. If the bearings are worn or missing, move to Step 9. If the bearings are intact and not worn, move to Step 11.
- 9). Locate the bearing clips on the outside of the drum's edge. Squeeze each of the clips together to release the bearings from the drum.

Align the two halves of the new bearings inside the dryer's drum edge. Press the bearings to snap the clips into place inside the openings around the edge of the drum. - 11
Lift the drum and place it back inside the dryer's cabinet. Rest the rear edge of the drum onto the guide wheels at the back of the cabinet. - 12
Push the idler pulley toward the dryer's drum and loop the belt around the motor shaft and pulley. Release the pulley to apply tension to the belt. - 13
Replace the front panel onto the dryer and reconnect the door switch wiring harness. Replace the screws to hold the front panel in place. - 14
Rotate the top panel back into place on top of the dryer. Press the front edge of the top panel down to snap the panel back into place. - 15
Plug the dryer into the wall outlet and slide the dryer back into place against the wall.
