We have all been there, and I just want to be able to share obstacles and experiences that I have gone through.
My dos and don'ts, which I'm sure for those who have already succeeded, can relate.
To make this easier, I'll make these simple step-by-step pointers for you to have a better understanding.

1. Brainstorm.
   Making money online is not as easy as you may think it is.
   Like any business, you need to have a layout of what you want to accomplish as a business owner, and what you want for your clients.
   Diving right into a project isn't always good.
   You'll find yourself having to go back and start again because you forgot something.
   Good old-fashioned pen and paper is great to make web notes or just plain note jotting.
   
2. Organize.
   Having a successful business requires organization.
   Once you have all your notes and ideas done, organize your notes accordingly and make yourself a timeline.
   Write down what you have to do first, and don't skip steps.
   Always finish one goal before going onto the next.
   Baby steps, you'll get to where you want to be, remember, no one becomes rich over night unless you've hit the lottery! If you've waited this long to start, another couple days or weeks won't hurt.
   Make yourself a reasonable timeline of when you expect to have your to-do list completed.
   
3. Work.
   Making money online doesn't mean sit on your tush and do nothing.
   Making money online is an alternative income so that we can have the opportunity to be our own boss.
   Be in the comfort of your own homes and set our own schedules.
   Earning an income still requires you to do actual work.
   The Internet does not do it for you.
   Especially when just starting out, there's a lot to consider, but work in moderation.
   Making money online isn't served on a silver platter but you do not have to be a workaholic either.
   Which leads me to my next point.
   
4. Break.
   If you were working for someone, you get breaks.
   Make sure to take some time away from the computer.
   For those with children, I'm sure it won't be a problem.
   Just don't forget to eat and drink! We may not be doing physical labour, but we are straining our brains so avoid stressing yourself out and relax your brain from working, eyes from the screen, and fingers from the keyboard.
   Once you have that clear mind, you'll have those fresh ideas again.
   
5. Concentrate.
   I know while your concentrating on this one project to make money on line, you're also checking out other opportunities right? We all need a 'back up' plan or 'plan b'.
   Here's the thing; the Internet is very overwhelming.
   Of course there is going to be thousands of opportunities out there, but you have to be able to stick to one.
   Otherwise, you are going to find yourself in so many programs and projects that it's going to make you go crazy! You've just gone and dug yourself a hole.
   Besides you will never know which one is going to work unless you try it out and give it some time.
   
6. Persevere.
   You've put so much time and effort into this, and you've already made it this far.
   Don't give up now.
   You may seem discouraged and are having second thoughts because nothing is happening; you've hit a plateau.
   But, whether you're selling or freelancing, it takes time to build clients or credibility.
   Like I mentioned earlier, this is not going to happen over night.
   It takes time.
   Keep up with updates, follow up with clients, inform them, and educate yourself with the newest stuff out there for your field.
   Worst case scenario, if after a few months you really have not gone anywhere; consider going back to the drawing board.
   Also, always remember why you turned to make money online to begin with.
