Content is King on the internet! One way to increase indexed content relating to your web presence is developing great blog articles.
A lot of blog writers I've spoken with over the years have had challenges developing new content that is both engaging and informational.
Writing an article is not a hard thing to do; however, it does require creativity and in depth knowledge of the subject.
Creativity keeps the information fresh and new, while a deep understanding about the subject inspires the audience.
I have developed a "4 step" process to inspire you to write compelling, interesting and engaging blog articles.
Step #1 - Begin with "Establishing a Catch Phrase or attention grabber"- this must either be in your title or the beginning of your opening paragraph.
An opening line on a blog is very similar to an opening line in a compelling novel.
A blog or informational article should be interesting and informative and something that your audience will love to read.
Write your catch phrase in such a way that it will stick in the mind of your audience for the day or even a couple of hours.
Then when your reader is presented with a challenge a friend may be having - your attention grabber becomes the answer or the center of their conversations, thus driving further reads of the article.
Step #2 - Give insight on your topic and provide meaningful in depth information.
Make sure you write in such a way that the person reading your article can understand all of the details.
Be cautious not to start babbling and talking about your friend's life, the weather, or other superfluous thoughts, keep your mind and your article on the subject.
Your reader is not there to read about your life story, what you are wearing or why you do what you do, they are there to learn.
When giving insight, make sure that it is written at a level that every reader can understand.
You may need to condense your thoughts to be clear and concise.
Step #3 - "Call to action," in this step you need to determine; what purpose someone would have in reading your article.
Why you posted it in the first place? Your call to action may be to direct them somewhere else, if so, provide them a link to where you want them to go.
A call to action may be to inspire the reader to do something for themselves or someone else, in this case, spell it out for them.
You may want them to like or comment on your blog, Facebook or Twitter, so again, provide them with links that will make it easier for them to go where you want.
The goal may be simply to call or fill out a form, again make it clear and visible and easy for them to complete.
Step #4 - "Cliffhanger" A cliffhanger is a great way to end, further engaging your reader.
Have you ever read a good book and then at the very end of the book the author leaves you with a cliffhanger? That cliffhanger captures your interest to read the second book, to get to the conclusion of the story.
If you leave your readers with a thirst for more, you will ensure that they will continue reading, and hopefully acting on your call to action.
