- 2). Check that the control knob is set correctly and push in properly. Make sure the unit is not set on self-clean. Self-cleaning settings may cause the entire unit to not operate.
- 3). Unplug the unit from the wall. Wiggle the burner in the socket. Pull the range out from the socket in the unit if it feels loose. Spread the terminal connections on the end of the burner gently to create a tighter connection.
- 4). Remove and replace the burner.
- 5). Remove the screws that hold the socket in place on the unit with the range unplugged. Pull out the old socket. Gently pull on the connector for the socket to remove it from the range. Replace in the reverse order.
- 1). Check that the unit is plugged in properly.
- 2). Align the cap on the gas burner properly. A misaligned cap will create a bad flame.
- 3). Lift up the lid of the unit. Remove the screw holding the burner in place. Insert a wire brush into the burner to remove any excess soot which may cause the burner to go out.
- 4). Stick a pin into the burner holes to remove dirt.
- 5). Stick a pin into the ignitor for the gas range to clear it of debris.
