- 1). Press the catch release at the base of the handle to separate the bin from the Dyson DC15 vacuum.
- 2). Lift the catch release at the front of the bin lid. Raise the lid and lift the filter free of the filter compartment.
- 3). Separate the sponge portion of the filter from the yellow plastic housing.
- 4). Hand-wash the filter and housing in cold water only. Do not use soap or detergents. Continue washing until only clear waters runs from the filter.
- 5). Allow the filter to air dry for at least 12 hours. Do not reinstall the filter until it is completely dry.
- 1). Place the base of the bin over a garbage can. For allergy sufferers, consider placing a plastic bag around the base of the bin to prevent dust from rising during disposal.
- 2). Press the button at the top of the bin handle to empty the contents of the bin.
- 3). Press the catch midway down the front of the bin, and separate the two halves.
- 4). Use a brush to clean dust and lint from the shroud portion of the bin. The shroud is accessible once the lower half of the bin has been removed.
- 5). Run cold water through the lower half of the bin, and scrub clean it with a brush. Allow the bin to dry before reassembling the two halves.
