How to Write Blog Content That Makes Money

Let's discuss the type of content that you can put on your blog in order to make it profitable.
First of all, you must understand that there are no rules about what your blog should have.
We do live in a (generally) free country.
I'm not going to try and tell you what you should or shouldn't put on your blog.
However, there is a distinct difference between a blog that makes money and one that does not.
A large part of this difference is the way your content is presented.
Think about this: Would you prefer to read your boring physics lecture notes or a book by your favorite author? You probably prefer to read the novel, because it's either more interesting subject matter for you, or because it is not as mind-numbing as the lecture notes.
In my opinion the most important point here is that most people prefer reading "light" stuff.
And when people go to your blog, they are not only looking for good content.
They are also needing that content delivered in an easy, relaxed style.
So, to keep your current visitors intrigued and coming back for more, it is crucial to add a human element to your blog articles.
The easiest way to do this is by imagining you're talking with a friend casually about the subject.
Show your sense of humor, your cynical side, or your soft side.
Whatever is appropriate for your post, do so in a human fashion.
With this last thought in mind, try to avoid addressing your reader in plural form.
This means you should not write as if you're preparing a speech to a big group of people.
Instead, write as if you're talking to a single person in a casual conversation.
This will create a connection with your reader at a personal level, as opposed to a teacher/student level.
In addition, writing with a personal touch is very useful to establishing your own personality and branding.
Human beings are social creatures, so naturally your visitors would want to know as much about you as the content you're presenting to them.
Having personality makes a big different, especially in topics that are dry and non-social, such as talking about gadgets or accounting.
It will give people something to remember you by, so you're not just part of the crowd.
The lesson in this article is to simply write as if each visitor that comes to your blog is a friend of yours.
Write to them as if you're sitting on a couch next to them, and use your own personality as appropriate.
