- 1). Travel to Prontera, the capitol city of Rune Midgard. The kingdom of Rune Midgard is the starting area for all new characters.
- 2). Walk southeast from Prontera until you reach Izlude. Alternatively, find a Kafra employee in Prontera to use the teleport service. Teleporting to Izlude costs 600 zeny, the "Ragnorok Online" currency.
- 3). Enter the town and continue southeast, past a tool shop and down a flight of stairs. Look for the Sailor (coordinates 198, 181) standing in front of a ship.
- 4). Speak to the Sailor to bring up passage options. Click Byalan Island and pay the 150 zeny fee.
