- 1). Remove the damaged peep sight from your bow. Carefully cut any existing threads or knots from the previous peep sight.
- 2). Separate the existing bow strings into bundles. You will need two or three bundles, depending on the type of peep sight you are installing.
- 3). Insert the peep directly into the bow string. Move the peep sight to a position so you are able to see through the peep sight when you draw to your anchor point.
- 4). Position the top pin of the front sight so that it is just slightly above the center pin guard on the front sight.
- 5). Draw your bow after you nock an arrow. Have a friend measure the vertical distance between the shaft of the arrow and the peep sight. Adjust the sight guard vertically until the top pin is the same distance from the shaft as it is from the peep sight.
- 6). Move the sight guard horizontally until the top pin is lined up with the bowstring while you are sighting a nocked arrow. This will assure that you are on target for approximately 10 yards.
- 7). Tie a serving both above and below the peep sight. A serving is a strong thread similar to a bowstring that has been tied into a single knot. Tie a couple of half-hitch knots with the hanging end of string around the bow string and finish off with a double knot. This will assure that the peep sight will not move.
