- 1). Raise the Dodge using the floor jack and rest the right and left side of the Dodge on a pair of jack stands. Slide under the engine and position the drain pan under the drain plug on the bottom of the oil pan.
- 2). Remove the drain plug from the Dodge's oil pan using the ratchet set and allow the engine oil to drain into the drain pan. Replace the drain plug to the bottom of the Dodge's oil pan.
- 3). Remove the retaining bolts from around the edge of the oil pan using the ratchet set. Pull the oil pan off the bottom of the engine. Look on the inside of where the oil pan was and locate the oil dipstck.
- 4). Grab the end of the oil dipstick with the needle noise pliers and pull the dipstick out of the tube.
- 5). Replace the oil pan to the bottom of the engine. Replace the bolts to the edge of the oil pan and torque the bolts according to the torque specifications for that specific Dodge model using the torque wrench.
