Do you consider yourself stuck in a rut? I'm guessing that you do or there wouldn't really be any point in you reading this article would there? Being stuck in a rut is a feeling that you get, but it's also an opinion.
Now we all have opinions.
I am very opinionated indeed.
I would like to think that I am always right but sadly I have been proven wrong once or twice in my life, so it just goes to prove that no-one's perfect.
Lots of people inherit their opinions from their peer group.
If your dad was a racist, then there is a good chance that you inherited your views on racism from him.
The question is this; were your dads views on racism a matter of opinion, or a matter of fact? It's a bit of a tricky one isn't it? The same question can be asked of someone who finds themselves stuck in a rut, is being stuck in a rut a matter of fact or a matter of opinion? Now don't get me wrong, feeling stuck in a rut is no laughing matter, I have been there and I have done that and I refuse to go back there again thank you very much indeed.
The point I am making is this, who is to say if you're really stuck in a rut or not? I was stuck in a rut for a long time, but once I drew my line in the sand and decided to get unstuck I managed to get myself unstuck in a matter of minutes.
This brought the question up, if I was really stuck in a rut, then how come I managed to get myself out so easily once I decided to? In my "opinion" feeling stuck in a rut is totally different for everyone.
Some will feel stuck for a short period of time, others for a lot longer.
You will all be stuck on different aspects of your lives because things affect us all in very different ways.
What might be a huge deal to you and keep you feeling stuck in a rut for ages, might not even register on my "stuck" scale.
The main thing is that when you decide to get yourself unstuck, it happens so fast that you will wonder if you were ever really stuck in a rut at all.
And that's a "fact.
