- 1). Thoroughly clean the rear taillight of your Fiesta Zetec with dish soap and water. The dish soap will strip away any accumulated wax. Once it is dried, use masking tape to cover up the metal around the taillight. Open the hatch and allow it to sit upright. Allow the taillights to thoroughly dry.
- 2). Thoroughly shake your can of tint if you are using a spray-on. Using even motions, hold the can about 8 to 10 inches from the taillights and apply very light coats. You want to apply several light coats instead of heavy coats to avoid any running in the tint. Wait about 20 minutes between coats. You can apply more coats as you desire. Be sure to keep track of the number of coats so that both lights receive the same tinting.
- 3). Peel the backing off your pre-cut plastic tint if you are using pre-cut plastic instead of a spray-on. Spray down the taillight liberally with soapy water, then apply the pre-cut tinted plastic. The soapy water will allow you to move the plastic around till you are happy with fitment. Once you have the tinted plastic properly placed, use a credit card or squeege to push the soapy water and smooth any air pockets from underneath the plastic. Use your other hand to hold the plastic in place. Do not worry if you cannot get it all, as the water dries it will disappear.
