Autoresponder is an auto reply to incoming messages while out of the office.
If you are going to be out of the office for an extended period of time, you may wish to turn on the automatic reply (Autoresponder) message. This feature will automatically reply to incoming messages while you are out of the office.
It's an incredibly useful tool if you're out of the office or want to automate electronic product deliveries. Set up the out of Office Assistant
Select Out of Office from the Tools menu.
Note: If you have more than one account, you must turn the Out of Office Assistant on or off for each account separately.
Select Send Out of Office messages.
In the Reply to messages with box, type the text that you want to include in your automatic reply.
Expand More Options by clicking the black arrow and then do any of the following:
To set start and end dates for an Out of Office message select the I am out of the office between check box, and then set your Start date and End date.
To set options for replying outside your organization select the Send replies outside my company to check box, and set options as desired.
Click OK.
Set up a Mail Rule
If you go on holiday or are away from your office for a while, it's really useful to be able to set up a Holiday or Vacation Response – which sends an automated email response to all your incoming mail.
In Outlook Web App with Exchange Server 2010, you can configure a start and end date in the Out of Office Assistant in advance. If you know in advance that you will be out of the office, you can create your Out of Office message in advance and it will automatically start at the start time that you specify and turn off at the end time. If you turn on your Automatic Replies message and do not set start and end times, you will be reminded that it is on every time that you log on to Outlook or Outlook Web App. The reminder gives you the option to keep the Automatic Replies message on or turn it off.

- Select your account on the left (note: if you are on the 2007 Exchange server, you will not be able to create a rule on the server. Instead, select your account under On My Computer.

- Make sure that the Enabled check box is selected, and then click OK. Important: Because mail rules are run by Outlook and not the mail server, you must leave Outlook running for automatic reply messages to be sent.
