Christmas Wedding Colors

    Traditional: Green, Red and White

    • The most obvious color choice for a Christmas wedding is the traditional apple red, dark green and white. Bridesmaid dresses in bright Christmas red will provide a rich background for bouquets of white poinsettias. A bridal bouquet of white poinsettias and fake holly berries (real holly berries may stain your dress) look stunning. Traditional green evergreen trees at the front of the church look elegant with red, green and white ornaments and clear lights. You can enhance your decor even further by wrapping empty boxes in solid red and white paper for under the trees. Continue the red, green and white theme throughout the reception by gifting each guest with a glass ball ornament with the wedding couple's name written on it in silver pen. Remember to add the wedding date to the ornament as well.

Winter Wonderland: Silver, Light Blue and White

    • Silver bells and icicles are standard winter sights. You can borrow the colors of these traditional Christmas items for your wedding. Bridesmaids will look icy cool in light blue bridesmaid dresses carrying silver and crystal bead bouquets. Adding a silver lame ribbon around the bride's waist will add glitter and shine to her dress. The groom and groomsmen will sparkle too, with steel blue ties and silver cuff links. You can also decorate the church with silver and flocked Christmas trees. Twinkling lights and white tulle will bring your winter wonderland theme to the reception.

    Precious Gems: Jewel Tones

    • The rich, deep colors of emeralds, sapphires and rubies make a colorful yet sophisticated scheme for a Christmas wedding. Deep jewel tones are appropriate for winter weddings and make for stunning bridesmaid dresses. Glittering gemstones add glimmer when added to bouquets. A large wreath adorned with gemstone-colored ornaments at the front of the church draws all the wedding colors together. Name dinner tables after gemstones at your reception to continue the theme.

Golden Bells are Ringing: Gold and Cream

    • Cream or winter white bridesmaid dresses that closely relate to the bridal gown create a uniformed appearance for the bridal party. You can use gold-toned candleholders adorned with cream bows and poinsettias to decorate the church. Use gold spray paint and gold glitter on pine cones to add inexpensive sparkle to reception tables.
