I recommend you plan to arrive on Tuesday if you're coming to town for the Thanksgiving Day Parade -- late November can bring foul weather to the northeastern United States and if your flight gets delayed or cancelled, you don't want to risk missing the parade!

Many Broadway theaters are dark on thanksgiving, and most museums and other attractions are closed, so this is a great day to see the Rockettes!
Dinner at Rock Center Cafe
You will definitely want to make reservations for brunch or dinner on Thanksgiving Day. Most restaurants have special menus for the holiday.

Check Out The Holiday Window Displays at NYC Stores
Here is a great walking tour that will lead you to see some of New York City's best holiday window displays. You'll also be able to see the Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center, though it won't be illuminated yet.

If you have kids (or are just a kid-at-heart!) visit Santa in New York City and get a photo to remember this very special trip. Whether you go to the iconic Macy's Santaland or try one of the other options, it's sure to make for a memorable trip!
