- 1). Use a tape measure to measure the dimensions of the garage door. You will need to create a golf driving range net that fits the dimensions of the garage door, so that the net can hang in front of the door. Write down the dimensions.
- 2). Cut the nylon netting with scissors to meet the dimensions that you need. The nylon netting is what will catch the balls that you drive as you practice in the garage. The netting should be tight enough so that no balls can go through the netting, or else a ball could end up outside of the garage area and could potentially injure someone on the street.
- 3). Hang the nylon netting from the ceiling of the garage, allowing it to hang down to the floor. Secure the top of the netting to the ceiling or a beam with a staple gun. The netting should also span the width of the garage to provide full coverage. The longer the netting is, the more coverage it gives you when driving the golf balls.
- 4). Lay down synthetic grass patches in the garage. Synthetic grass patches provide you with a realistic aesthetic for practicing your putts and swings. Cut holes in the grass where you want to insert the tees for the golf balls to stand on. You might lay the grass in a strip parallel to the net and create a left, middle and right tee-off area for target driving practice.
