- 1). Open your Microsoft Word 2007 program.
- 2). Click on the "Office Button" in the upper-left corner and select "New."
- 3). Click "Greeting Cards" from the Template list on the left side.
- 4). Find the type of occasion for which the card is being created. For instance, click "Occasions and Events." This will bring up a list of templates for cards.
- 5). Double-click on the card template you would like to use. If no card fits your needs exactly, pick one that is close and you can change the elements of the template.
For instance, if you do not like a picture on one of the templates, click on it and then press the "Delete" button. Insert a new picture by clicking on "Insert," "Picture." This will bring you to a box where you can select from the pictures available on your computer. Double-click on the picture you would like to use and then resize it to your liking.
To move the picture, right-click on it. Click "Text Wrapping," and then click "Tight." This will allow you to move the picture on your card. - 6). Format an auto shape. Sometimes pictures are actually fill for an auto shape on a template. To change it to another picture, right-click on the image that is on the card template. Click on "Format Picture." Click on "Fill" on the left side. Next, click on "Picture or Texture Fill." This will bring you to a dialog box. Under the Insert From heading, click on "File," which will take you to a list of the pictures you have stored on your computer. Double-click on the picture you want to use and it will now fill the auto shape on your card.
- 7). Change text by clicking on a text box. You can then change the text by highlighting it and typing over it, or by deleting the text in the text box and typing your new text in the box.
- 8). Move the template text and images to suit your needs. By clicking on a text box or image and then holding down the mouse button, you can move the text box or image on the page.
- 9). Change the color of a text box or background by right-clicking on the box. Select "Format AutoShape." Under the Fill heading, click on the color and select the shade you prefer.

Add new text by clicking on "Insert Text Box" and then selecting the type of text box you would like to add to your card. Type in the text you would like to add. You can format the text by highlighting it and then right-clicking on the text. Options will show up for different sizes and types of text, and you can select the ones that will look best on your card. - 11
Insert WordArt if you like your text to be more arty. Click on "Insert," "WordArt." Select a style of WordArt that you think will enhance your card. Type your text when prompted and then click "OK." Next, move the text to the place you would like it to appear on your card.
