- 1). Position the mower deck in an upright position against a wall or place it upside down so you can easily reach the blades. If necessary, use the assistance of a second person to help you maneuver the Bush Hog.
- 2). Wedge a wooden block between the edge of the first mower blade and the side of the mower deck. This immobilizes the blade and keeps it from spinning.
- 3). Loosen the nut in the center of the blade with a socket and ratchet.
- 4). Pull the old blade off of the shaft and replace it with a new blade.
- 5). Thread the nut in place and tighten it with the socket and ratchet.
- 6). Repeat the process with the second blade.
