- 1). From the top of the dryer, remove the lint trap. Using your screwdriver, unscrew the assembly that houses the lint screen and remove it from the dryer, setting it aside.
- 2). Using your screwdriver as a lever, insert it under the front right side of the dryer, between the top and the body. Press down to force the top slightly up from the body. Repeat this process on the left side, and lift the top off the dryer.
- 3). Remove the lower panel from the dryer by inserting the screwdriver into each side and rotating to release the clips that hold it in place. Slide your phone book under the now-exposed dryer drum so that the drum will be supported.
- 4). Loosen the screws at the bottom of the front cover, but do not remove them (this allows access to the belt without requiring you to remove and replace the entire front cover). Move to the top of the dryer, and remove the screws holding the front of the dryer in place. (These will be located at the top, behind the front.) Tip the cover toward you, exposing the drum, and slip the broken belt off the drum without fully removing. Slip the new belt over the drum, and lift up on the drum while returning the cover to the closed position. Replace the screws to the front cover and tighten the lower screws. Remove your phone book from its position under the drum.
- 5). Check the rear drum seal to the back of the dryer, and position the new belt identical to the old, with the textured side facing down.
- 6). Directing your attention to the motor area, remove the old belt and feed the new belt through, passing the entire belt, doubled over, under the idler pulley. Push the belt toward the motor pulley, placing the belt around it, and allow the tension to release on the idler pulley.
- 7). With your hand inside the dryer drum, rotate the drum counterclockwise to ensure that the belt has been properly installed. Replace the top of the dryer, exerting downward pressure for a snug fit, followed by replacing the lint screen assembly, and the lint trap, and then replacing the lower front cover.
- 8). Run the dryer for several minutes to ensure that the dryer is operational and that you have installed your belt correctly.
