- 1). Turn off the Dyson Animal vacuum cleaner and unplug it.
- 2). Remove the filter housing from the machine by depressing the release button on the filter and pulling it from the machine. The filter housing is located on the right side of the bottom of the dirt canister. Remove the dirt canister by pressing the tab on the handle and pulling it out of the machine.
- 3). Remove the first filter from the filter housing by pulling it out. Remove the second filter from the machine by lifting the filter lid that is in the Dyson Animal vacuum cleaner under where the dirt canister rested.
- 4). Wash the filters in cold water until they are completely clean. Wring the flexible filter until the water runs clear. Wash the non-flexible filter and knock it on the counter 10 times to remove loose dirt and water.
- 5). Let the filters dry completely for 24 hours. Put them back into the Dyson vacuum cleaner and replace the dirt canister.
- 1). Turn the machine off and unplug it.
- 2). Remove the wand from the Dyson Animal vacuum cleaner and remove the wand from the hose. Remove the other end of the hose from the bottom of the machine. Do this by depressing the release buttons.
- 3). Check the hose for blockages. Remove any you see with a long-handled brush.
- 4). Tip the Dyson Animal vacuum cleaner on its side and depress the u-bend release button. Flip the u-bend pipe open and remove any blockages.
- 5). Reassemble the machine by pressing the hoses back into the wand until you hear them snap into place.
