- 1). Unplug the KitchenAid dryer from its electrical outlet.
- 2). Pull out the dryer lint trap from the top of the dryer and then locate both screws inside the trap housing. Remove the screws with a screwdriver.
- 3). Press a putty knife into each of the top-front corners of the KitchenAid dryer to release the locking tabs that hold the dryer's top and front panel together. Lift up the top and rest it against the wall behind the dryer.
- 4). Remove the screws that secure the bottom kick panel to the dryer chassis and then pull the bottom kick panel off the dryer.
- 5). Remove the four screws that hold the front panel in place and then remove the front panel.
- 6). Place a wooden block under the front of the dryer drum and then tilt the drum forward. This takes pressure off the belt.
- 7). Remove the old belt from the motor pulley and the drum pulley. Place the new belt onto the pulleys.
- 8). Tilt the drum back into an upright position and discard the wooden block.
- 9). Reassemble the dryer shell in the reverse order.
