- 1). Click the mouse inside the "Address Bar." Input the text "about:config," then press the "Enter" key.
- 2). Click the "Accept" button when a warning dialog box pops up. Whenever you edit Firefox preferences, you must confirm that you indeed want to access the preferences files.
- 3). Scroll down through preferences until you reach the following one:
network.http.sendRefererHeader
Change the value listed behind it to "0" to unhighlight terms that come up in Google searches. Click "Save."
