Why Dirty Oil Ruins the Engine to Your Car

Changing the oil is the most important maintenance needed for your car.
The oil lubricates numerous parts and keeps the engine alive.
The engine is the heart to your car and an engine replacement or overhaul is very expensive.
Many people especially women don't think about changing the oil, but once they start wondering why the car starts smoking, they take their car into the shop.
Clean oil is needed to lubricate the pistons, among other components to the engine.
Once the oil gets dirty and black and thick, it can no longer do the job to work the engine.
Then the parts start wearing down, causing lifters to knock and sometimes a cracked head.
Gaskets get too tight and start cracking which create leaks where the oil runs out damaging the engine.
At this point it is too late for the engine to survive.
It starts smoking causing a host of problems and now it takes several quarts of oil a day for the engine to barely run.
It makes all sorts of weird noises, the smoke pours out and it finally quits running.
You take it into the shop and you need a new engine or the mechanic will tell you the engine needs to be rebuilt.
You're looking at several thousand dollars all because of a cheap oil change and filter.
If you're driving an old car, you need to find out what other problems it has so you'll know if it's worth investing the money for a rebuilt engine or to buy another car.
Old cars are built better than the new plastic cars, but you need to keep them up, so it's something you need to think about.
If you're having engine problems, you need to find a good honest mechanic that won't rip you off.
You need to check out the smaller independent mechanic shops that are ASE Certified.
They can save you lots of money compared to the bigger repair shops.
Get three estimates in writing with a written guarantee before letting them work on your car.
The independent ones are more customer friendly and value their work.
They cater to most service and repairs with experienced skilled mechanics.
They do a better job than the big ones with lots of turn over.
Make sure you change the oil in your car every three to five thousand miles for peak performance.
Keep your vehicle maintained so the dirty oil won't ruin the engine to your car.
You'll save a ton of money and headaches with proper maintenance that won't empty your wallet.
