- 1). Get in the shower pan if you are replacing an old one. Otherwise, simply stand in the location where you will install it. Place the end of a tape measure at the very back edge of the pan or the wall.
- 2). Stretch the other end of the tape measure to the front of the shower pan or the outermost edge of the wall. Write down the measurement.
- 3). Reposition the first end of the tape measure at the furthermost left side of the shower pan or wall.
- 4). Stretch the tape measure across the top of the pan or pan area until it reaches the farthest right side. Write down the measurement. The width and the length measurements should be the same, unless you have a custom pan or pan area. If the measurements are different, remeasure for accuracy.
- 1). Get inside the acrylic shower pan if you are replacing an old one, and stand in the shower area if one is not yet installed. Place the end of a tape measure at the top back corner as far back as you can. For example, measure from the outer edge of the pan, not the inner basin that contains the water.
- 2). Stretch the other end of the tape measure along the left side of the shower pan or wall until you reach the left front corner. Write down the measurement. Then repeat the measuring process to ensure it is accurate.
- 3). Move to the back corner of the shower pan or wall, and ensure that the end of the tape measure is still in the proper position; readjust it if needed.
- 4). Stretch the other end of the tape measure out to the right front corner of the pan or wall and write the number down. Repeat this measurement as well to ensure accuracy.
