Bachelor Party Planning Information

We've all seen the scenario.
The bridegroom-to-be follows his bride-to-be on all of the pre-nuptual appointments.
He tastes cake, listens to bands, visits ballrooms, pages through bridal magazines, etc.
etc.
etc.
I mean, after all, every new bride has dreamed of her wedding ever since she was a little girl.
And every new groom wants nothing more than to please his future wife.
But...
there is one thing that every groom has dreamed about for a very long time; the bachelor party.
The bachelor party is the only thing in the entire wedding process that is just about him.
It is not about them or her, it is about HIM.
And as such, planning for the bachelor party is very important so that HE can have the night that he truly deserves.
More often than not it is the best man that is primarily responsible for planning for and arranging the bachelor party.
The ushers are usually involved in helping but it's generally the best man who is designated as the team leader.
While he may think that he knows, the smart best man will take the time to find out what it is that the groom-to-be really wants to do on his last night of "freedom".
Now I know that the cliche is that the groom and his buddies get stinking drunk while beautiful naked women give them lap dances.
Of course, this does happen but it may not be what your particular groom wants.
So, the best man has to find out what sort of party the groom really wants.
It may sound "unamerican" but not every guy wants some hot honey sitting on his lap.
That may be a privilege he wants to reserve for his bride.
It is really OK for a guy to be a little more wholesome and to look for other forms of entertainment.
Instead of a trip to the local strip club he might prefer a trip to an arcade where everyone can shoot hoops or get into the batting cage and knock homers all night long.
In either case, you'll probably want to go to a place that serves food and drinks and allows for a noisy happy celebration.
Another thought might be to a night of paint ball to help everyone release their tensions and have a fun night being "boys" again.
It is probably wise and even fun to arrange for a limo to take the group to the party and then home again.
Bachelor parties are probably one night when no one wants to be the designated driver.
Everyone will bump into the issue of who to invite.
It definitely should include the fathers of both the bride and groom and then any male relatives who are coming to the wedding.
Of course, the ushers should all be included.
And if there is any doubt about who to include, check it out with the bride.
She should be able to provide good contact info for all of the guys who should be invited.
While you're chatting with her its probably a good idea to see if there are any behaviors she'd seriously frown upon.
It is probably not a good idea to have the groom hung over and really sorry about his behavior the night before.
Paying for the party can be a little tricky.
If you're really lucky one of the fathers may offer to pick up the tab.
But if they don't then its appropriate to have all of the guests split the bill, including tips.
The groom should not put any money into the pot.
It is his night to be the guest and to get treated to a great time.
When all is said and done, the bachelor party is a time for the groom and his "buds" to have a great time.
The best man should do his best to be the "best man" and give the groom everything he deserves.
