- 1). Launch Thunderbird. Click the "Tools" menu at the top of the screen, then click "Account Settings."
- 2). Click the "Account Actions" button in the lower-left corner of the window, then click "Add Mail Account."
- 3). Type your name as you want it to be displayed to those who receive messages from you, then type your full email address ending in "@netzero.com" and your password. Click "Continue." Thunderbird is able to detect the server settings for NetZero accounts automatically. Click "Create Account" to begin using your account. If the settings are not detected automatically, click "Manual Setup" and continue to Step 4.
- 4). Click "Server Settings" on the left side of the window. Enter "pop.netzero.com" in the box labeled "Server Name," and input "110" in the "Port" box. Make sure that the box labeled "User Name" contains everything in your email address before the "@" symbol. For example, if your email address is "emailme@netzero.com," the user name would be "emailme."
- 5). Click "Outgoing Server (SMTP)" on the left side of the window. Click the outgoing server for your NetZero account, then click the "Edit" button.
- 6). Type "authsmtp.netzero.com" in the box labeled "Server Name," and input "587" in the "Port" box. Place a check in the box labeled "Use name and password," and make sure that the user name displayed is the same one that you used in Step 4.
- 7). Click "OK" twice. Your NetZero email account is ready to use with Mozilla Thunderbird.
