Elton John poses on the red carpet at the world premiere of Touchstone Pictures' animated film Gnomeo & Juliet. The movie features Elton John's music throughout, and he is also the executive producer on the film. And best of all, Elton makes a cameo appearance in the movie -- as a gnome.
In an interview with Elton just prior to the world premiere of the movie, we found out that it was not originally Elton's idea to use his own classic music as the soundtrack.
That idea came from Dick Cook at Disney. James Newton Howard (who was once in Elton's band) did the arrangements and the scoring of the movie. Also, Elton's cameo appearance came as a surprise to him. He told us laughing, "I'm so thrilled to be a gnome. And so thrilled to be a glamorous gnome as well."
