Campgrounds at Surf City, North Carolina

    • Surf City is located on Topsail Island, a barrier island off the coast of North Carolina, just south of the Outer Banks. It straddles the counties of Onslow in the north, and Pender in the south. It is well known for its beautiful beaches, and is a sanctuary for sea turtles. Historically, it is known as one of the pirate Blackbeard's hideouts, and people still search for his buried treasure there today.

    Surf City Family Campground

    • Surf City Family Campground has ocean access and is in a great location to explore the entire island. From here you can visit Dixon Point, Kings Creek, Sea Haven Beach and Hammocks Beach State Park. There are 90 campsites that are situated close together with electric, water and sewage connections for motor homes available.

    Blackbeard's Treasure Family Campground

    • Blackbeard's Treasure Family Campground is close to Sea Haven Beach, Water's Bay and Old Mill Creek. Topsail Golf Club is also nearby as well as the Surf City Ocean Pier, which has great fishing. There are sites for both motor homes and tents with water and power. Their full hookup sites have 30 amp service, and there are two sites with 50 amp service available if you call ahead for reservations.

    Lanier's Campground

    • Lanier's Campground has 44 sites available to overnight campers for both tents and motor homes with electric, water and sewer hookups. There is wireless Internet, but it is only available in a few hotspots. There is a pool at the campground, and it is within walking distance of Surf City Beach for swimming. Carolina Beach State Park, Hammock's Beach State Park and Sea Haven Beach are all within reach for a visit and provide access for fishing and hiking. Hammock's Beach is only accessible by ferry from the mainland.
