If you need to feed a large crowd or have a hearty appetite yourself, this meal will surely satisfy the hungriest of audiences.
This dish calls for one eight ounce package of uncooked spaghetti, ½ cup Parmesan cheese, three finely chopped green onions, 1 ½ tablespoons olive oil, two six ounce cans drained and flaked salmon, one cup chopped sweet onions, and two tablespoons prepared basil pesto.
This simple list of delectable ingredients guarantees amazing results in your attempt at one of the best recipes using canned salmon.
To begin, fill a large pot with slightly salted water and bring it to a boil, adding in the pasta and allowing it to cook for about eight to ten minutes until the noodles are al dente.
After draining the spaghetti and setting it to the side, you can start making the delicious sauce.
First, heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and add in the green onions, pesto, and sweet onions, cooking them until the vegetables are nice and tender.
When the onions are tender, add in the salmon and continue to cook the mixture until it is heated through all the way.
At this point you should mix in ¼ cup of the Parmesan cheese and continue to cook the whole combination for another five minutes.
The sauce is now done and can be poured onto the spaghetti and thoroughly mixed together.
Add the remaining Parmesan cheese on top to finish off the dish.
This marks the successful completion of one of the most all around satisfying recipes using canned salmon.
This meal goes nicely with a light side salad or even some garlic bread in order to continue along the Italian theme.
