- 1). Add 2 to 3 tbsp. vinegar to 2 cups water. Stir thoroughly. Pour the solution into a spray bottle. This is an inexpensive but effective glass cleaner around the house.
- 2). Pour a 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol, 1/4 cup vinegar, 1 tbsp. lemon juice and 2 cups of water into a spray bottle. Screw on the cap. Shake the spray bottle vigorously to mix the ingredients thoroughly. However, if your window has a coating of any sort on it, do not use this glass cleaner on it because the lemon content will destroy this coating.
- 3). Scrub the mold and mildew from your shower doors using a combination of lemon juice and salt. Mix equal parts lemon juice and salt. This solution cleans mold and mildew off the doors. Rinse off the shower door using warm water.
- 4). Get rid of hard water stains around your home by cleaning the glass using vinegar and a cleaning sponge. You can also use undiluted vinegar as an effective way to get rid of accumulated soap or scum build-up.
- 5). Clean your mirrors using plain water and lint-free cleaning cloths for a streak-free clean. First, wipe your mirror using a dry lint-free cleaning cloth. To clean more stubborn dirt, dampen the cloth with plain water and use this to clean the mirror. Rinse the cloth in the water once it gets dirty and then continue cleaning until the mirror is clean. Take care to wring out as much of the water as possible, because excess moisture will leave streaks.
