I have always been looking for methods which are effective in stopping panic attacks.
I tried exploring a variety of different techniques and consulted with therapists.
Below is what I found to be the most effective:
- Learn How To Control Your Thoughts: This is not as easy as it sounds.
You will be surprised how powerful this technique is.
Our thoughts trigger our emotions, which in turn triggers our body to act, this can be a mental or physical action.
If you are able to control your thoughts and manage them, then you will have the power to prevent panic attacks, as they are the object of thoughts in your head which triggers your mind and body to certain actions.
- Undertake A Physical Health Check Up: When I was having a panic attack, I kept on thinking something horrible was going to happen to me, such as a sudden heart attack or stroke.
I was worried something would hit me all of a sudden, that would cause sudden death or severe injury.
This was a horrible feeling.
These thoughts trigger your body to panic and as a result you go through an attack.
I am sure some of you think the same whenever you go through an attack.
Well if you are worried that something is wrong with your health, or that something in your body may kill or hurt you, then go check it out.
Most likely nothing is wrong with you, but it will give you a piece of mind which will be a powerful tool in stopping panic attacks.
Remember, your thoughts trigger these attacks, so if you know you are healthy then you can be much more in control. - Reduce Or Eliminate Stimulants: It is a known fact that the use of stimulants makes your heart beat increase and can severely increase nervousnesses.
You will find stimulants in the form of cigarettes and caffeine-related products, such as coffee.
I would limit the intake of these stimulants, as they play a role in increasing the frequency and severity of panic attacks.
