Curing social anxiety is a hard task.
If you already feel like giving up, you're not alone! That's why I want to teach you exactly how to cure social anxiety.
It's a difficult problem to overcome, but I know you can do it if you use the following 3 tips and tricks effectively.
Learn breathing and relaxation exercises.
Learning these types of exercise will help you control the physical symptoms of social anxiety and help you be more naturally relaxed during social situations.
Challenge your negative thoughts.
During a social situation you fear, there are a lot of things going through your head: "If I speak, they will think I'm weird".
"I won't make a joke, because they will surely think I'm not funny".
"I won't give them my opinion...
they will probably think it's stupid anyway".
These are irrational thoughts.
How can you be sure they won't find your joke funny or think your opinion is delightful? Do you read minds? Unless you do, you have to realize your thoughts aren't logic.
Each time such a thought pops in your head replace it by a rational answer.
For example; "Why would they think I'm weird if I talk? I speak like everybody else! And even if I didn't, I deserve to say what I want!" Don't avoid your fears, face them gradually.
This will really help you cure social anxiety.
For example, if you fear eating at restaurants, start by going to a not-so-crowded restaurant.
You can start by simply sitting there doing nothing.
When you feel you're ready, order some food.
When you no longer feel anxiety by going to that particular restaurant, go to a more crowded restaurant, but not too crowded! Repeat the same process over again.
And guess what? Once you no longer fear eating there, you'll have to go to a very crowded restaurant.
Before you know it, you won't be afraid of eating in restaurants.
