How to Implement SQL Reports in Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0

    • 1). Install and set up the SQL Server with Reporting Services. In the root folder, click "Setup.exe," then in the Microsoft SQL Server dialog box, click "OK" to install the prerequisites, which are the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and the Windows Installer 4.5. Once those are installed, the installation wizard will run the SQL Server Installation Center. Follow the instructions (see Resources for more help).

    • 2). Run the SQL Server 2008 Reporting Service Configuration Manager once installation is complete. In the "Reporting Services Configuration Connection" dialog box, specify the server name, click the "Find" button and then select a Report Server Instance to configure.

    • 3). Click the "Web Service URL" button to configure a URL used to access the Report Server. Select the "Virtual Directory" and under "Report Server Web Service Site Identification," choose the IP address and TCP port.

    • 4). Click the "Report Manager URL" button to configure a URL to access Report Manager. Select a Virtual Directory and the URLs.

    • 5). Click "Next" to confirm the installation of the Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services. Click to accept the license agreement and click "Next." Select the "U.S. English Version" and then click "Next." Click "Exit" to complete the installation.

    • 6). Run the Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Wizard by clicking "Microsoft Dynamics" in the Programs menu, then "Business Intelligence" and "Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Wizard." Click "Next" during the welcome, and then select a Microsoft Dynamics server name, a username and a password.

    • 7). Select the database to deploy reports for, and click "Next." Specify the "Target Server URL" and then click "Finish."

    • 8). Open the "Microsoft Dynamics GP Menu," click "Tools," "Setup," "System" and then "Reporting Tools Setup." In the first box, choose the "Report Server URL" and in the second box, type the "Report Manager URL."

    • 9). Click the "Administration" tab and then select "Custom Report List" to browse through the standard SQL Server Reporting Services.
