Invitations
There are many types of "message in a bottle" invitations available online or from wedding supply shops. They are usually accompanied by a small cardboard box to insert them in for safe, easy delivery. Some are made of plastic and some of glass. Many bottle selections have a beach theme with sand in the bottom and tiny starfish anchored to the bottle neck. These are perfect for a beach-themed ceremony or tropical reception. Creative individuals can purchase the bottles, sand, parchment, and small charms or ornaments and make their own personalized "bottle" invitations
Favors
A method of thanking your guests for attending your wedding and reception is to have a personal message inscribed on parchment paper, rolled and tied with a ribbon, and then placed in a small bottle. These bottles can be given out as guests depart or placed at each place setting at the reception. The message should be easily removable and an eloquent expression of gratitude for the attendance of your guests at this very special occasion.
Menus
A rolled menu inserted into a bottle can be placed at each place setting at your wedding reception. Make sure the menu is easily removable and that small children do not handle the bottles if they are glass. Your guests can pull out the menu and review the food selections and courses before being served. If you've already used bottles extensively throughout the wedding, you may just decide to print out menus with a "message in a bottle" illustration or logo.
Centerpieces
Unique centerpieces for your guest tables can be fashioned from your wedding theme. Use larger bottles with a scroll tied with ribbon on the inside and a few flowers of your choice arranged in the bottle opening. You can also utilize a cluster of bottles of different sizes. Flickering votive candles around the arrangement, sand, colored pebbles, or translucent glass stones at the bottom of the bottles, and a mirror under the arrangement will add to the charm.
