- 1). Unplug your router from the electricity and make sure you are wearing eye and ear protection for your safety.
- 2). Insert the bit into your router and line it up so that the bearing is gliding along the surface that does not need trimming. The blade will be along the piece that needs to be trimmed. For example, the bearing would run along the pattern and the blade would run along the piece needing to be flush cut.
- 3). Clamp or secure the pieces to be cut to a flat and stable surface. If they move while you are trimming, they will not be flush.
- 4). Plug the router in and turn on the power. Use the bearing to guide you smoothly as you run along the edge cutting away the excess material. Do not push or force the bit. The two pieces should be on the same plane and unable to tell where one starts and one ends.
