- 1). Install the Google Talk voice and video chat plug-in from Google.com/talk if you have not already done so.
- 2). Visit either Gmail, Orkut or iGoogle and sign in to your account.
- 3). Click "Call phone" within the "Chat" section of the page. This brings up a small number pad.
- 4). Click the flag just above the number pad and then select the United States as the country you are calling.
- 5). Dial the number, including the area code, using the number pad. Press "Call" to place your call.
