Springtime in Michigan is one of the best times of the year to enjoy the many wonderful events the great outdoors has to offer. Residents and visitors can take advantage of the mild weather to attend diverse festivals throughout the state. Whether your interest is in flowers, snowboarding, fishing or the environment, you will find something to do and much to learn while you have fun. - The week long Holland Tulip Time Festival in May offers a glimpse into 18th century Dutch life. It attracts more than 100,000 visitors annually, and is Michigan's largest flower festival. Acres of tulip gardens offer daily tours and flower demonstrations. Visit the only U.S. blue delft factory to see how craftsmen create the delicate chinaware. The Dutch dance shows feature 1,000 dancers in native Holland attire performing traditional steps. The festival begins with residents scrubbing the streets followed by the grand parade with horse drawn carriages. A children's parade, a Dutch market, music concerts, plays, working Dutch windmills and so much more await tulip lovers.
